(SPOT.ph) Makati City may not be your ideal spot when it comes to planning a staycation—traffic is insane, people are always rushing, and the surrounding skyscrapers just remind you of the daily grind. But Alpha Suites, the city’s newest serviced residence, hopes to make your staycation a pleasant one by bringing a piece of Balesin Island Club to the bustling business district. They’re sister properties, after all.

DE LA CRUZ Opened to the public in May but officially launched on November 16, Alpha Suites has everything you need within the luxurious property. A total of 250 suites ranging from a one-bedroom to a three-bedroom unit are available for both short-term and long-term travelers. You can even ask them to stock your refrigerator regularly with the essentials (like milk and eggs) if you’re planning to stay longer.
Alpha Suites’ 500-square-meter gym COURTESY OF ALPHA SUITES They have an 80-meter swimming pool divided into three sections: the circular kiddie pool, the lagoon-style pool for adults, and the lap pool for those who can’t miss a full-body workout. If you’re into sports and fitness, they have indoor courts for tennis, basketball, badminton, and squash; a boxing and martial arts arena; pilates and yoga studios; and a high-definition virtual golf simulator. The cherry on top is the 500-square-meter gym, which has top-of-the-line equipment so that you can still continue your drills even when you’re away from home. If you’re the type who just wants to chill (it is a staycation, after all), there’s a billiard hall, a private screening room for movie marathons, a Wii game room, and the Aegle Wellness Center.
Toscana Ristorante Italiano PHOTO BY CHRISTA I. DE LA CRUZ Alpha Suites also has nine world-class restaurants—that you can also find at the Balesin Island Club—to satisfy your hungry stomach after a full day of doing all sorts of activities. For your Japanese cuisine cravings, there’s Sakura; and for anything Greek, there’s Mykonos. Other restaurants are: Tang Palace, Toscana Ristorante Italiano, Mark’s Prime Rib, Salathip, Balesin Islander, A Taste of France, and Costa del Sol.
If you’re looking to take a breather but can’t afford to go away for a week, a serviced apartment like Alpha Suites may just be what you need.
